DAVIDsTEA Goji Green
The tea of the month for July at Davids Tea was Goji Green. I was on the fence if I wanted to get this one as green teas are not typically my favorite and fruity green teas can either be amazing or really bad. After reading a lot of reviews I decided that I would try this one. Since I live about an hour and a half from the closest store I had to order this one. The one thing that I don't like about Davids is that their shipping is $9.95. This is crazy!
The ingredients in Goji Green are green tea, rosehips, orange peel, hibiscus, goji berry, black currant, raspberry, stevia extract and natural and organic pomegranate flavoring.
Ok, so, I will ignore the fact that they put stevia in yet another tea. sigh....
so, the tea steeps up to a deep, cherry red. The body is thin and what one would expect from a green tea. It smelt just like cherry kool-aid mix. The flavor is that of fresh, juicy red berries with just a hint of green tea taste in the background. Overall I liked this, however, I would suggest being very careful to not oversteep this as I can see that the green tea would get bitter and ruin the overall taste. I prepared this iced in my Davids Tea Press and steeped it for 3 minutes. I would not drink this hot, I think it is best as an iced tea.
Out of a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being terrible and 10 the best I would give this a 6. It is above average but nothing mind-blowing either.
Until next time, happy sipping!!
